Mexican-born illustrator Andrea Davalos creates vibrant, symbolic worlds where intuition leads the way. Her work blends bold colour, dreamlike imagery, and unexpected transformations in what she calls “visual alchemy.”

Severely short-sighted since childhood, Andrea once experienced the world as soft blurs of colour rather than clear forms, which shaped the way she sees and creates. Colour became the constant she could trust, and today it flows instinctively through her work in rich, expressive palettes.

For Andrea, making art is simple: creating something that did not exist before — and letting a little magic happen along the way.
