The adoption of the 2030 Agenda by world leaders almost three years ago charted a trajectory to a shared future for both people and planet. Realizing the ambitions of the 2030 Agenda requires mobilizing extraordinary resources and talents and the goodwill of people around the world, UN Volunteers are working alongside local volunteers around the world to step up to the challenge.
In 2018, an estimated 2,200 UN Volunteers in West and Central Africa were giving their time to make a difference on the issues that affect them and their communities, often in the most difficult circumstances. Volunteerism connects people, enabling them to work together to tackle the pressing priorities of our time.
At the Future by Design, we were proud to support the UN Volunteer Programme in West and Central Africa and design a powerful Year-End campaign. This campaign not only recognizes the 2018 efforts and commitment of all volunteers working in West and Central Africa, but sparks curiosity among the development partners on good volunteering practices and encourages them to further engage in 2019.
